FOOTNOTES WITH RAY*

Theology (a.k.a. the study of God) doesn’t need to be complicated. We don’t need to use churchy words to explain it. The Bible says that who God is and what He is like is obvious if we simply look at the world He created (Romans 1:20). This blog is for teens and up; really anyone who has questions about God, wants to better understand what is said in church, or desires to study and know the Bible (and God) personally.

* This site gets its name from my slightly obsessive use of footnotes. You will see lots of footnotes in every post. Some of these will either prevent me from plagiarizing by telling you who I am quoting (including the book, author, and page number), others will give you definitions for words that aren’t very common outside of church these days (these will be put in bold font), and still others will provide witty or helpful notes. If you want to read more about any particular idea, the book(s) mentioned in any footnote are a good place to start!

Anything you find here will require a little more engagement. Wait until you have a good chunk of time to yourself, and then grab your Bible and a notebook (or slip open the Bible app on your phone) and come ready to ask all of the questions you can. We’ll be analyzing and studing the Word of God.

Pick a topic, any topic! If you have questions about any specific topic and don’t see anything written on it yet, hit the ‘Get in Touch’ button at the bottom of the page and send me a suggestion.
